The Make-up Show Chicago: The good, the Bad, the Goodie-bag!

I attended The Make-up Show Chicago a couple of weekends ago, and I’m still trying everything in this amazing goodie bag we received. Being a  beauty blogger I got the chance to go with some amazing women from the Plus Fashion Week Official Blog Squad and we had a blast! We got a special ‘preview day’ where all the bloggers came to meet with James Vincent, a celebrity make-up artist, to get the inside scoop on the industry. It was such a great experience, and I was so pleased to see that the industry leaders are trying to get more recognition to the Chicago area. We do have a lot of wonderful talent here locally and they should use that talent.

Now, at these times, people assume that they need to bring in a make-up artist from New York, or California to work on projects, and they forget about their wonderful local talent that they have right here. They should use that before contracting out into the other cities. It was really awesome to hear someone as power as James talking about that, and thank you for bringing us a spotlight here to Chicago. Now onto the details!

James introduced himself and The Make-up Show. Did you know that they are the largest Pro-make-up artist event? The people at these events are some of the biggest names in the industry, Cosmetic company owners, executives behind the brands, international artists that set the trends every season. The people here, are people who keep the industry running… its such a passionate event… I was so proud to be there.

From Left to Right… Eva London of InHerGlam, Myself, Lauren Kent of Wanna Be Rich KId DIaries, And Brandy Hazzard of GoldNGlitters

Getting a chance to hang out with The Blog Squad was my highlight of the afternoon. These girls are made up of some of the best bloggers in Chicago, and they are not only a group of diverse wonderful women.. but they are leaders in the blogging industry.  Get to know Eva, Lauren, and Brandy because you will be seeing them all over the city!

These were some of the amazing artists and brands that were there that weekend. They also had some amazing pro-artists that were there for educational purposes. Seriously, where else can you go to get a PROFESSIONAL make-up artist teach you industry secrets? NO WHERE! Do you want to learn how to do the perfect smokey eye, how about some simple solutions to everyday problems? It was like a sneak peek at getting some of those important questioned answered by successful, professional, and amazing make-up artists. These are the people who do make-up for the celebrity’s that we love. It was truly amazing!

Lets talk about the Goodie Bag!

Being apart of the blogger preview on saturday we left with this AMAZING goodie bag! It was FILLED with brushes, make-up, new looks for the summer, up and coming industry secrets, tools… I’m talking seriously FULL of product. The bag itself was impressive ALONE, and that was before they filled it with all these amazing full size products and brushes. Here’s my Bag picspam…

The industry BUZZ Occ cosmetics

I took the liberty of trying out this new ‘obsession in the industry’ known as Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. They formulated a new product that everyone is obsessed with! The Lip Tar was in our goodie bags and I couldn’t wait to try it. Mine was in the color Radiate, which is a bright almost fluorescent looking red. This is going to be seen everywhere! Just be warned the tube is easily broken, and this has been known to stain clothes and carpeting etc. Two of the beauty bloggers that I went with had issues with the tube exploding on them, and I hope that I’m not next because I LOVE THIS STUFF! Look at how AWESOME it looks on me!

unedited photo. Look at how VIBRANT this color is!
