Rain Cosmetics is one impressive company. I was sent a couple of things to review, and I was very impressed. From the packaging, to the booklet of information about the products… you can tell this is a very classy operation. The other really neat thing about ‘Rain’ is their participation in the Miss Universe Organization! They just released a press release about their upcoming partnership with the organization, and I couldn’t be happier. I can’t wait to see what they put on the girls this year.
LAS VEGAS- May 9, 2012- Rain Cosmetics announced today a continued partnership with the Miss Universe Organization as the Official Cosmetics Sponsor. The Las Vegas-based beauty brand, who made its pageant debut last summer, will sponsor the 61st annual MISS USA® Pageant, which will air on NBC Sunday, June 3 (911 p.m. ET) from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas at the Theatre for Performing Arts.
The fun and flirty cosmetics line gets its inspiration from and is based in Las Vegas, the city that the Miss USA Pageant calls it’s home away from home. The company’s lightweight, long-wearing products with rich pigments and high-definition finishes will allow the 51 beauties to showcase their flawless faces both on and off camera.
“We are happy to welcome back Rain Cosmetics as the Official Cosmetics Sponsor for the 2012 Miss USA Competition,” said Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization. “Their long-lasting, high quality cosmetic line will provide our contestants with the camera ready look they need for their stay in Las Vegas and the night of the competition.”
Rain Cosmetics owner, Lori Montoya said, “Rain Cosmetics is thrilled to continue our partnership with the Miss Universe Organization. Last year was a huge success, and we are excited to work with another great group of contestants. Our long-wearing formulas have the rich pigments and staying power that will help them put their best faces forward during the competition.”
Rain Cosmetics and their team of professional makeup artists will work with the Miss USA contestants during their two-week stay in Las Vegas, including the preliminary competition and the live final broadcast.

Here’s a list of what “I loved and liked.” If I had to pick a favorite I think it would be the foundation, but the lip gloss and lip stick is coming in at a close second. If I had to pick a least favorite, I would say the Mascara. Here’s my re-cap!
Conceal Reveal Flawless Foundation *spf 15
Description: Seduce your skin with the silky, smooth feel of this feather-light foundation. Provides medium to full coverage while leaving skin feeling nearly naked. This hypoallergenic and oil-free formula is infused with antioxidants & SPF 15 to protect against harmful UV rays. Ideal for all skin types.
They sent this to me in two different shades which I think was really thoughtful. You never can really tell by computer what someones skin tone looks like, so that was a big plus in my book for them. Anyway, one of the colors worked like a charm (and saved my life by the way) this is going in my bestsellers book. CREAM CORSET Ideal for light medium skinned cuties. Compliments warm yellow and beige undertones.
Let me explain why it saved my life… a few days ago my family had a nice outing planned, and we went to the ballpark to watch a baseball game. It was a nice day very sunny and in Chicago that’s not exactly the norm. Lately, we’ve been having some strange weather. So… I just slapped on a cute outfit, my Rain foundation and some other make-up before leaving the house.
Needless to say the sun was out, and very bright that day… so I got sunburned! My face, however, did not take too bad of a beating. I’m assuming because of this awesome foundation with SPF 15 in it, my face was spared. So, thank you rain for saving my face on sunday I love you!
Description: Glamorous color combined with moisturizing mango butter, grape seed oil, and Vitamin E. This long-lasting formula is available in both shimmer and matte shades.
This was my second favorite. I love the pigmented shade they sent over Cocktail hour a deep coral, is perfect for spring/summer. It has no funky smell or taste, and its rich and creamy texture really made my lips feel yummy. It went on smooth and easy and lasted a good amount of time! It’s not really a ‘long wearing’ lipstick but it definitely didn’t wear off right away.
Description: Drench your lips in bold, brilliant color. Intense hydration collides with six striking shades creating a powerful lacquer that lasts. Nourishing antioxidants, Jojoba and Vitamin E provide moisture to lips, leaving them soft and shiny. Forecast: 100% chance of color with higher than average shine.
This is my next favorite item. I was sent TROPICAL STORM A hot magenta glaze and I love the color. I can already tell that I am going to get a lot of use out of this during the hot summer months. It give my face that perfect little pop of color without being too over powering. It even looks super adorable over the Glam Lipstick.
Description: Take your lashes to dramatic lengths with bold, weightless volume. This smudge-free formula instantly amplifies for longer, thicker looking lashes.
They have two different mascara’s on the site, and honestly, both look phenomenal. There is the ‘High Roller’ which is the one that I tried in black, or they have this ‘High Rise’ which also comes in dramatic black. This is going to sound crazy but I like the handle on the brush. For me, the square packaging was easier to handle for some reason.
Now, I am a mascara freak… and I never just use one mascara. I always use one then layer it with a different one, which is exactly what I did with this, and the results came out the same. I did notice that this didn’t clump up on me too much, and the texture seemed weightless. I also used it alone the other day to test for flaking because I wear contacts, and I can’t have flecks popping into my eye now and again. I have to tell you it didn’t flake either!
All-in-all this was a good mascara, I just have others that I like better. I don’t think that I would personally get this again, but it is a nice mascara to have. Who knows it could become your next favorite!
Here is what really impressed me about Rain… Take a look at their About Us statement. I can tell you that it really is exactly what they state here! It’s encouraging to find a cosmetics company that has stayed true to their mission.
