I had the complete honor and joy to review Dark World: Into the Shadows with the Lead Investigator of The Ghost Adventures Crew by Zak Bagans and Kelly Crigger. When Zak first hinted about this book via Twitter, I was very excited because I knew it would be a fantastic read. I’m happy to say that the book completely lived up to my expectations.
Dark World is a must read for Ghost Adventure/Paranormal Challenge fans and paranormal enthusiasts alike. The book starts off on a very personal level explaining how Zak grew up, and the experience that ultimately lead him to paranormal investigating. Those of us who watch Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel every Friday night continually hear “I never believed in ghosts until I came face to face with one” in the opening of every show. Sadly, not much information was known about that experience before this book. Dark World dives into that experience, along with other experiences he had as a child. Zak really opens up his world so much that, in reading this book, you can almost hear his voice reading it to you in your head.
As stated above, this book is definitely a must read for Ghost Adventure/Paranormal
Challenge fans and paranormal enthusiasts. Dark World is also a great read for budding paranormal investigators. Zak and Kelly do a beautiful job of breaking down the ins and outs of paranormal investigating, while providing examples from many of Zak’s investigations with Ghost Adventures. Zak also tackles the scientific aspect of paranormal investigating, including the use of equipment, in a way that’s easy to follow and understand. He also takes the time to explain theories he’s developed from his investigations, as well as some of the other theories that are out there on the paranormal.
Dark World is also full of a lot of interesting facts about Zak, as well as more in depth stories about what happened on some of The Ghost Adventure Crew’s more memorable investigations. After reading this book, it has become crystal clear just how much of an effect the Bobby Mackey’s Music World investigation has had on his life.
Dark World: Into the Shadows with the Lead Investigator of The Ghost Adventures Crew releases on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 and I would advise anyone with a love of all things paranormal to pick up this book. It really is a great read!

I got my copy this past Friday and I have not been able to put it down because Zak and Kelly did a wonderful Job. As a matter of fact I am going to be reading for the second time for that,s how hard it is to it down.
