Underground Job
The episode opens with a huge explosion at a coal mine. Right away you knew the team would be brought in to expose the owner, Dan Blackwell, for unsafe conditions. But they also have to get back the money he was supposed to use to make the mine safe that he got from the government after the explosion.
Eliot pretends to be a miner and goes down into the mine to help with the con. He is sent down with a young miner who lost his dad in the explosion. You knew Eliot would become attached to the kid. He just had that look in his eyes. I like that they make Eliot this tough as nails guy with a heart of gold. Christian Kane is just perfect for this character. Again Christian was paired with Aldis for some of his scenes and they are always amusing to watch.
The funniest one in this episode was Parker. She was sent in as a grifter to get information on the attorney general in cahoots with Blackwell. Just the expressions on Beth Riesgraf’s face are priceless. And for some reason Parker was fascinated by the lawyer’s hair. I’d love to know who comes up with all of Parker’s quirky and odd behaviors. Whoever it is I hope they always write for the show and that he or she keep Parker just the way she is.
